"Oh!" said the boy, "teach us to sing and dance and laugh and cry. Weve tried to survive so long on money and sex and envy and real estate and football and basketball and automobiles and television and alcohol, on sawdust and broken glass!" "Open your eyes!" said the man. "Do I look like a dancer, a singer, a man of joy?" "Open your eyes!" said the man. "Would a man nourished by beauty look like this? You have nothing but desolation and desparation here, you say? I bring you more of the same!" "My eyes are open!" said the boy, "and I see exactly what I expect to see. I see a man who is terribly wounded, because he has dared to pass through the fires of truth to the other side, which we have never seen. And then he has come back again, to tell us about the other side."

Thanks Peter...I appriceate the sentiment very much. So far the year has been looking up for a lot of folks, I'm keeping my hopes up that I'm one of them.

In recent years I have become notorious for my apathetic disposition about things. I think, with regards to the past few months, the fact that it's winter and given the everpresent (and completely absurd) tension in my appartment, I'm just a little worn out.
Also, I'm a philosophy/psych major...and as most well know, though these subjects are interesting to boot, a constant flow of study in either of these fields tends to have some peculiar effects on the psyche. I am just hoping, I guess, that discovering the meaning of life will make it worth the trouble...
So you're training to be a journalist, eh? That's awesome! I wish I had the discipline to take on such a profession, I can imagine that Bloor's Law come's in extremely handy! I really hope that it works out for you. Maybe, somewhere in the process of changing the world, you can unearth some more career opportunities for us silly philosophers?
